About Philip Pendleton Dandridge, Sr

From Jefferson County, Virginia. His father was Adam Stephen Dandridge and his mother was Sarah Pendleton Dandridge. He first married Caroline Fitzhugh Goldsborough, They were wed on May 16, 1839 in Virginia. There were 8 children to this union. After Caroline's death in 1854 Philip would marry again to the lovely Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Taylor Daughter of President Taylor, "Old Rough and Ready".

Philip Pendleton Dandridge (Adam Stephen4, Alexander Spotswood3, Nathaniel West2, William1) married, as his first wife, Caroline Fitzhugh, daughter of Governor Charles Goldsborough of Maryland. They were married at Shoal Creek, Dorset County. Maryland, May 16, 1839, by the Rev. William McKenny. He married, second, Mrs. Elizabeth (Taylor) Bliss, by whom he had no children. She died at Winchester, Virginia, July 25, 1909.
