Major Sir Hamish Stewart Forbes, 7th Baronet, MBE, MC, KStJ (15 February 1916 – 3 September 2007) was a British Army officer who served in the Welsh Guards in the Second World War, spending over 5 years in German custody as a prisoner of war. In later life, he was patron of the Lonach Highland and Friendly Society from 1984 until his death.

Major Sir Hamish Stewart Forbes of Newe, 7th Bt. was born on 15 February 1916.2 He was the son of Lt.-Col. James Stewart Forbes and Feridah Frances Taylor.2 He married, firstly, Jacynthe Elizabeth Mary Underwood, daughter of Eric Gordon Underwood, on 2 June 1945.2 He and Jacynthe Elizabeth Mary Underwood were divorced in 1981.2 He married, secondly, Mary Christine Rigby, daughter of Ernest William Rigby, in 1981.2 He died on 3 September 2007 at age 91.3

He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Lawrenceville, Illinois, U.S.A..2 He was educated at School of Oriental and African Studies, London University, London, England.2 He fought in the Second World War, was captured at Dunkirk and became a POW.2 He was served with the Welsh Guards in France, Germany, Turkey between 1939 and 1958.2 He was invested as a Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1945.2 He was decorated with the award of the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1945.2 He gained the rank of Major in the service of the Grenadier Guards.2 He succeeded to the title of 7th Baronet Forbes, of Newe [U.K., 1823] in 1984.2 He was invested as a Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.) in 1984.2 He lived in 2003 at Newe, Strathdon, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.2
