Major William Arzwell Miles

William A. Miles, son of Armistead J. Miles was born November 7, 1825 in VA. On August 5, 1847 he married Nancy Daugherty (1831-1887), a native of Pulaski County Kentucky. She was born June 8, 1831 and was the daughter of Joseph Daugherty and Elizabeth Lee. Joseph Daugherty was born in Kentucky, June 8, 1801 and died June 9, 1855, Her mother, Elizabeth Lee, was born February 5, 1802 and died November 7, 1845. W. A. Miles and wife were the parents of twelve children, James C. Miles, born April 7, 1849, Fountain A. Miles, born September 23, 1851, Joseph D. Miles born August 21, 1858, Margret L. Miles born October 20, 1860, William N. Miles was born November 6, 1864, Melissa F. Miles born November 30, 1862, Charles H. Miles born June 18, 1867, Arthur B. Miles born December 14, 1868, and Oscar and Orla Miles(twins) born January 9, 1871. William Arzwell Miles died in Atlanta, Missouri, Oct, 12, 1894. His wife Nancy Daugherty, died April 6, 1887, on their homestead three miles East of Atlanta, Mo.

William married Elizabeth Roberson on September 6, 1888 in La Plata, Macon County, Missouri, USA.

James C. died March 31, 1875; Oscar died Jan. 29, 1871, and Orla, his twin, died Feb. 3, 1871. Thos. A. died July 19, 1874; Melissa F. died Jan. 21, 1882; Charles H. died May 27, 1916; Madison L. died Feb. 8, 1920; Fountain A. died July 3, 1925. A. B. Miles died Mar. 7, 1932, Joseph D. Miles died, Nov, 3, 1933, W. N. Miles, died July 5, 1941.
