"Many online sources mistakenly add middle names of "Nathaniel Hawkins" to this man, yet these are solely almost certainly incorrect assumptions based on a misreading of the Revolutionary War monument outside the courthouse in Jessamine County, KY, where his name is abbreviated, "M'N'H' SINGLETON" to fit on the monument. If they were instead giving initials, they would have put, "M.N.H. SINGLETON." There is absolutely no original or even ancient documentary evidence to attribute middle names to Manoah Singleton, who always appears everywhere solely with those two names."
