About Manuel Zamora
Manuel Zamora is credited with the discovery of the "tiki-tiki" in 1909, a formula against beri-beri. In 1901, he became assistant professor of organic chemistry at the UST, progressing to full professor. In 1908, he established a drugstore and a small laboratory in Manila. He was a member of the Board of Pharmaceutical Examiners in the early 1900s. In 1921, he became the first dean of the Centro Escolar University's College of Pharmacy, a position he held until his death. He helped establish the Philippine Pharmaceutical Association in 1920.
