Perez Ancestral Trace (Abridged)

Perez (also written as Phares or Pharez) is a biographical name: the direct descendant of Judah, Jacob (Israel), Abram (Abraham), Shem (son of Noah), and Seth (son of Adam) from the Old Testament as well as the direct ancestor of King David from the Old Testament and Jesus Christ from the New Testament (or the future Jewish Messiah). In Hebrew, Perez means to breach, breakthrough, or burst forth from a wall (or barrier) – amidst context, Perez was the first twin to breakthrough his mother’s womb (New American Standard Bible, Gen. 38:27-30). The surname Perez comes from the first name of the original bearer (Perez of Genesis 38:29). Hence, the Perez family in Spain are actually the descendants of the Hebrew Perez from the Bible.

Within greater context, both Perez and Marcelo Perez are the direct descendants of the ten antediluvian patriarchs (Adam, Seth, Enosh, Kenan, Mahalalel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech, and Noah), the three great patriarchs (Abram [Abraham], Isaac, and Jacob [Israel]), and the patriarch (founder) of Judaism (Judah) of the Old Testament.
