Marcin Reszka and Ewa Nosinska left Dywan, Lipusz, Polska in August of 1859 on the ship Donau with many other Kaszubian families.
On the 1860 census they were in Winona, Minnesota, USA with other Lipusz Families. Symon and Faustina Reszka were the Godparents of Franz born in 1856 in Dywan, Lipusz Parish.
Shortly after coming to the United States Marcin and his family moved from Winona, Minnesota across the Mississippi River to Pine Creek (Dodge), Trempealeau County, Wisconsin.
Later in the late 1870's their son Julius founded the Kaszubain settlements in Walsh County, North Dakota.
