At least one pedigree published by MyHeritage claims that Margaret Boyd, here treated, is the mother of Gabriel Highgate but this is wrong. MyHeritage It is true that Gabriel Highgate's mother was also named Margaret Boyd but she was never the wife of Matthew Fairservice. This is proved by the fact that Margaret Boyd, here treated, had a son named Robert Fairservice who was born on 24 July 1749, and Margaret Boyd and John Highgate had a son named John Highgate who was born on 22 May 1749. It follows, therefore, that Margaret Boyd, here treated, is not the same person as Margaret Boyd

She was born on 28 January 1728 and her baptism was registered on 2 Fenruary 1728, at Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, Scotland. Her baptismal record reads as follows: "Robert Boyd Glover in Kilmk, and Margaret Thomson, both their 1st marriages, had their 7th child born on Sabbath Janr : 28 - 1728, and baptized Margaret on Thursday Febr : 2-1728. by Mr Paisley.". Margaret Boyd, here treated, married Matthew Fairservice on 5 September 1748, at Kilmarnock in Ayrshire, Scotland. The marriage record reads as follows: "Matthew Fairservice Glover in Kilmk. & Margaret Boyd daughter of Robert Boyd skinner there, both their 1st marriages were booked on Saturday August 27 - 1748 & consignes eight merks of penalty & after orderly proclamation three several Sabbaths were married at Kilmarnock on Munday September 5 - 1748 by Mr Hill & got up their penalty July 26 - 1749".
