The Johnstone family was of Scottish origins. The family moved to Ireland before settling in America. Margaret Mary Johnstone was the daughter of Gilbert Johnstone I and Caroline Johnstone. That she and her husband John Solomon Graham left Savannah to move to "Carolina" would be appropriate since her father and brother would be in the Pee Dee River basin Region from Bladen County, NC and Horry and Georgetown Counties SC.
John Graham and Mary Margaret established themselves in Mitchell Swamp, Horry County, SC.
