On 12 March 1682/83 in Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, Margaret Cheney was mentioned in the will of her husband, Deacon Thomas Hastings.
On 15 May 1686 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, Margaret Cheney was mentioned in the will of her mother, Margaret Cule.

May 31, 1693, to Sarah Tarball of Newton, where he resided - will dated March 8, 1737 mentions her, daughters Sarah Pond and Mary Dike, and sons David, Josiah, and Ebenezer)
- (2) John, born March 4, 1654, died March 28, 1718,
- (3) William, born August 8, 1655, drowned August, 1669,
- (4) Joseph, born September 12, 1657, died October 7, 1695,
- (5) Benjamin August 9, 1659, died December 18, 1711 in Hatfield
- m. Elizabeth Graves (b. March 6, 1662, to Isaac and Mary of Hartford, later Hatfield Mass, granddaughter to Thomas Graves of Hartford who died at Hadly in November 1662).
