Disputed origins for Thomas Hicks & for his wife, Margaret
Harriet Woodbury Hodge, in ‘’Hicks (Hix) Families of Rehoboth & Swansea, Mass., 1640-1850’’ (1976), LDS #1036844, pp 5-7; 9-10, reviewed land deeds, probate records, vital records and found no evidence of his English ancestry, parents or brother-relationship between Thomas Hicks, of Scituate and Robert Hicks of Plymouth.
Therefore, we do not show them as sons of James Hicks and Phebe Hicks, or as brothers.
Neither has any proof been found that Thomas Hicks, of Scituate came on the ship "Anne" in 1623 with Robert Hicks' wife and family.
There are numerous pedigree charts that list Margaret Hicks as arriving on the Anne in 1622, and claiming her husband was Thomas Hicks. That is incorrect. The Margaret Hicks who arrived on the Fortune in 1621 was the wife of Robert Hicks.
Margaret Hicks (wife of Thomas) is not proven to be the daughter of Zachariah West & Hepzibah West. There is no mention of her surname in original records. Scituate History 284. talks about Margaret but no mention of maiden name:

Family
3 children of Margaret and Thomas Hicks:
- Zachariah Hicks, born 1628, England. Married Elizabeth Still.
- Daniel Hicks, born 29 June 1630, England. Married Elizabeth or Rebecca Hanmore.
- Samuel Hicks, born about 1635 in Scituate. Married Hannah Evans.
Evidence needed to support Phebe Blanton as daughter of Thomas Hicks, of Scituate & Margaret Hicks.

Thomas Hicks came with his brother Robert, in the Ship 'Ann', to Plymouth, Mass., in 1623. (History of Scituate, Mass., p. 283) Thomas Hicks of London (Southwark) married Margaret West, daughter of Zachariah West, a linen raper of London. (From American Ancerstry, Vol. I, p. 37, The English Descent of Thomas Hicks of London, and Margaret West):
"Thomas Hicks was the son of James, m. Phebe---, perhaps a daughter of Rev. Ephraim Allyne of Hertforshire, son of Baptist, b. about 1526, m. Nancy, daughter of James Everhard, son of Thomas Hicks of Torworth, Gloucestershire, England, which estate he inherited from his father, John Hicks, and on the which he resided until his death."
