5-11-2012, Photo Vol states: "I have photographed all the early Houstons in the cemetery. The earliest stone I have found still standing is John Houston who died in September of 1791."

John Houston (1690 - 1754 ) & Margaret Cunningham - Born in Northern Ireland of Scotch descent landed in Philadelphia and stayed in Lancaster (now Cumberland county)Pennsylvania for several years. The three oldest children married in Pennsylvania. Many Scots - Irish did the same. A new offering of cheap land (25 cents an acre) with certain land titles, Bordeus grant, drew the family to Augusta co., Virginia. The Houstons were staunch Presbyterians. They established Presbyterians churches wherever they settled. They lived among and married within the church family. The first three generations came to America together. Their four sons served in the French & Indian Wars, as did their father, John.

There is no evidence that her father was the Timothy Houston.
