Biography
While the Houston Genealogy by Reverend S. R. Houston gives the name of Robert Houston's wife as Margaret Dunlap, daughter of Samuel Davidson and Ann Dunlap, the will of Robert Davidson dated January 10,1751, refers to his daughter Mary Houston. This would mean that Mary is the daughter of Robert Davidson, not Samuel. In addition, the will of Robert Houston, proved 19 May 1761, refers to his wife as Mary, not Margaret.[1]

Research Notes
Houston Family researchers have not discovered original documentation for her birth, nor her death. They do agree that she was born between 1720 and 1725 based on the birth of her son, Samuel Davidson Houston. They also agree that she was alive in 1761 when her husband died, based on her being named in his will. After her husband's death, she and children, moved to Blount County TN, as they were living near her son. Limited data for the other sons of Robert and Mary/Margaret. No data on their dispersion.[2][3]

Her death date is unknown, but we know she was alive at the time her husband's will was proved. We also know that her Will was filed Oct. 1, 1793[4] Find A Grave: Memorial #89967554 is completely unsourced and should not be used.

Mary Margaret was born about 1725. She passed away about 1760.
