About Margaret Ogilvy, Baroness of Foulis
Munro Chief, Robert Mor Munro, of Foulis' 1st wife was Margaret Ogilvy, of Findlater. Margaret's father was a courtier and was the initmate friend of Queen Regent (Mary of Guise) and of her daughter Mary, Queen of Scots. Robert harboured a bitter grudge against the Gordon House of Huntly. This Lady of Foulis may have been dead by 1562; but when in that year the young Queen of Scots came to Inverness, and was rumoured to be in danger from the Earl of Huntly's men, the Munros were among the first of the northern clans to hasten to her aid.
