Some sources sets out she may have been Margaret Barrett[6] [7], the daughter of Thomas and Margaret Huntingdon Barrett of Braintree, who subsequently moved to Chelmsford. This has not been proven.

Another suggests that she was Margaret Puttow, however the copyright holder has withdrawn this article from the online publication[8]. Just to be clear, the rest of this issue is available to subscribers, but the reader is redirected to NEHGS (the copyright holder), for this specific article. As a result, I suggest this information, which is repeated on FindAGrave, WeRelate, Ancestry and other secondary sources, not be used on WikiTree.

Margaret was the wife of Joseph Parker of Chelmsford and Groton[1] [2] [3] [4]

They were married before 1653, likely in Groton or Dunstable[7] [1] [2] [3] [4]

Margaret may have died in 1654, and Joseph remarried. It is therefore not clear if she is the mother of any children other than the first born[8] [9] [2] [4]

Joseph and Margaret's children included:

Joseph jr. born March 30, 1653. His relationship to both parents is not disputed[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [10]. According to these sources, and to Torrey[11], he married Elizabeth Unknown and Hannah Blood. The other children, whose mother may have been Rebecca Read, include:

Anna, born Feb 16, 1655[12], who died young[1] [3] [4] Mary, born October 28,1657[1] [3] [4] [13] John, born November 4, 1660, who died Oct 8, 1661[1] [3] [4] [14] A second John, born November 24, 1661[15], who died before 1714, when Joseph was referred to as ‘the only son’[4] Anna, born November 16, 1663[16] [1] [3], who married Zachariah Sawtelle[4] Sarah, born November 16, 1666, who died Sept 15, 1704[1] [3] [4] No more info is currently available for Margaret.
