Margaret Hildebrand was a Cherokee woman.
51.MARGARET4 HILDEBRAND (JOHN3, MICHAEL2, JOHN1) was born 1834 in Onslow, CNE, and died May 01, 1870.She married LEWIS ROSS Bef. 1848, son of DANIEL ROSS and MARY MCDONALD.He was born February 20, 1792 in CNE [Marysville, Blount Co, TN], and died February 15, 1870 in Saline Dist, CNW.

Margaret Hildebrand was born in the Cherokee Nation (East) about 1834. She was the daughter of John Hildebrand and Akey Tickstring. John is listed on the 1835 Cherokee census living on the Hiwassie River with a family of 9.
John Hildebrand died about 1838 and Margaret was Removed to Indian Territory with her mother. In 1848 she parented a child, Henry "Oo-hah-loo-gi," with Lewis Ross. [2]
Margaret and her son appear on the 1851 Drennan Roll (she is listed as "Wakey") living with her mother in the Tahlequah District.[3]
Margaret died in 1870.
