Margaret Stewart was born ABT 1373 in Badenoch, Inverness-shire, Scotland, and died ABT 1439. She was the daughter of Alexander Stewart Earl of Buchan and Mairead inghean Eachann AKA Mariot Athyn.

She married Robert 6th Earl of Sutherland Sir 1389, son of William Sutherland 5th Earl of Sutherland and Joanna Menteith Countess of Sutherland. He was born ABT 1347 in Dunrobin Castle, Golspie, Highland, Scotland, and died BEF 1427 in Dunrobin Castle, Golspie, Highland, Scotland.
