Margaret Weicker

WEICKER, Margaret Mae, 82, a lifetime resident of Tavistock passed away in Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, January 7, 2010. She was born in Tavistock on May 3, 1927 a daughter of the late Henry and Barbara (Roth) Vogel. Margaret was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sebastopol- Tavistock where she had served on the Sanctuary Guild for twenty-seven years, as a Sunday School Teacher, a Bible School Teacher and a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Women (ELW). She had assisted at the Tavistock Sauerkraut Suppers for many years. She married Earl M. Weicker at Sebastopol on November 16, 1946. He predeceased her on July 14, 1989. Margaret is survived by four children, Jim and wife Dana Weicker of R. R. # 5, Embro; Roger Weicker of R. R. #1, Shakespeare; Wayne and wife Nancy Weicker of R. R. # 2, Tavistock; Mary and husband Cletus Ditner of Tavistock; daughter-in-law, Shirley Weicker of Tavistock; ten grandchildren, Jeremy Weicker and Teresa Townsend, Jill and husband Steve Van Bommel, Stacy Weicker, Jamie and wife Patti Giroux, Adam and wife Lindsay Weicker, Kristen and husband Ryan Cook, Jesse Weicker, Lisa and husband Brady Ross, Andrea Ditner, Mary Margaret Ditner; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley and Brianna Giroux, Brett and Seth Van Bommel, Maisy Weicker. Rhayne and Ireland Stratton and Cohen Ross; one brother, Bill Vogel of Kitchener; one sister, Barbara Matthies of Stratford; three sisters-in-law, Joanne Vogel, Grace and husband Konrad Gaisbauer, all of London: Shirley Mae Weicker of Tavistock. She was predeceased by grandson, Jonathan Weicker; great- grandson, Beau Ross; two sisters, Arnetta Youngblut and Helen Faulhafer; three brothers, Robert, Harold and Carl Vogel; sisters-in-law, Jean Vogel, Betty Borland and Katherine Morgenroth; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Blum, Jack Youngblut, Walter Faulhafer, Bill Matthies, George Weicker and Paul Morgenroth. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sebastopol-Tavistock on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Richard P. Brown will officiate. Spring interment in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.
