Margaret Whitcomb

There is some confusion or disagreement on the parentage between some of the children of Margaret Gibbs, and the children of Margaret Aikens, if any. Each woman married a separate Nathaniel Whitcomb, who are not closely related.

"The Whitcomb Family in America" Charlotte Whitcomb Minneapolis, MN; 1904; p67:

"Nathaniel Whitcomb, (James, James, Robert, John) was married (i) to Mary Gibbs and had seven children; (2) October 7, 1779, to Mrs. Mary (Haskell) Freeman, who was born March 26, 1738. Warren town records say he died March 1, 1770; but the date must be wrong."
