Margaretha "Rita" Mans (1971 - 2002)

Brief overview:

Rita (31), a farmers wife, was shot dead on their farm in Ottosdal, North West Province, on 17th April 2002.

Her husband, Hannes Mans from the farm Lakensvlei suspected trouble when Rita did not arrive to pick him at the mine, at half past nine the morning, so they could go to Klerksdorp. Hannes went to their house an hour later and saw their bakkie still parked next to the house. There were blood marks inside.

"Currently, only the van's radio and a portable radio that was in the house are missing. Information that is on the scene, indicates that two people are believed to have been involved in the murder. The suspects fled on foot," Botma said.
