In 1926, Grethe's brother Paul wrote about her in a letter to a friend:
And my sister, who has wonderful children, is the best, the most angelical, kindest human being; and she is also a person, of whom I know for certain, that she loves me. Of how many people can that be said? It is a love that is only shown in what she does. I believe I shall never again experience the feeling of being so cared for by another person, because nobody else can do it the way she can.") Widow of Otto POPPER, later married Hugo Wiesmeyer, had two sons by him and emigrated to England in 1939 where they settled in Cardiff, S.Wales. The British Government, at the time, was allowing in businessmen if they went to areas with unemployment, of which S. Wales was one. (Deborah Guth, Dec 2018)
