Possible Marguerite Arthemise Metoyer in 1850 Census living with Margaret Lecompte (see 203). The census was taken in November. The 1850 marriage record says the Arthemise Metoyer was the legitimate daughter of Francois Metoyer and Margaret Lecomte.

Byron, the attached 1870 Census strongly suggests that Viifride/Wilfred was the son of Arhtemise Metoyer (also a sister, Rachal Virginia), which would be consistent with the approximate birth dates for both. It is already proven by SAR via National Genealogical Quarterly that Francois Vilcour married Arhtemise in 1850 (see below), and has a direct line to Claude. The 1870 Census doesn't show the presence of Francois Vilcour in the family and we don't know his death date. Perhaps if the 1860 Census can be found that might shed more information. On another note, the NGQ also states that Marguerite Arthemise Metoyer was one of Dominique's 17 children. That would mean that we must have a dual blood line back to Claude--that would make an even stronger case??? What is your take???
