Marie (Malla)Bjerke Munter was born at Northwood, North Dakta to Peter and Inger (Burass) Bjerke, at the age of 8 years she came with her parents to Hill River Township.

Malla was united in marriage to Gustav Munter on October 26, 1907 in Fosston, MN. They lived their entire life on the Munter homestead. Gustav passed away October 25, 1956.

Mrs Munter was a member of the former Asphult Church. She was presently a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in McIntosh, MN.

She is survived by 2 sons, Melvin and Carl P Munter and one daughter Mrs. Lloyd (Ruth) Roed, all of rural Fosston, MN, 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Erick (Clara) Holm of Clearbrook. Several nieces and nephews survive.
