Marie C. (Jones) Dunn was born in Vincennes, Knox Co., Indiana late 1817 or very early 1818 . She was the daughter of William Jones (1781-1819) and Susanne "Susan" Dubois (1789-1825). Both parents died when Marie was very young.

Marie's father, William, died in 1819 when she was just one year old. He was born in Jefferson Co., KY when it was still a part of Virginia. He was the son of Edward Jones (1743-1818) and Elizabeth Kellar (1749-1811). Both were born in old Virginia but migrated to Kentucky sometime before 1800. They are buried in the Hikes Cemetery located in Jefferson Co., KY.

Her mother, Susanne, died in 1825 when Marie was just 10 years of age. She was born in Vincennes when it was still a part of the Northwest Territory. She was the daughter of Toussaint Dubois (1751-1816) and Anne Jeanette "Janne" Bonneau (1770-1800). Toussaint was born in Montreal Quebec, New France (now Canada) and died in Illinois Territory near Vincennes, ID. Janne was born in old Ft. Vincennes, Quebec and died in or near the town of Vincennes. Both are buried in the Old Cathedral Cemetery in Vincennes.

As mentioned earlier, married never knew her father as he died when she was just one year old. Her mother, Susanne (34), remarried in 1923 to widower, Richard Mieure (41), but tragically she died just 14 months into their marriage. She left behind her 3-5 children, including Maria who was just seven, from her first husband, and a four month old son, William Henri Mieure (1824-1861), from her second marriage. Just a few months later Richard married widower, Victoria Delishe (1788-1851). Richard and Victoria then raised Marie and her siblings to aduldhood.

On Dec. 28, 1842 Marie Dr. Williamson Philander "William" Dunn (1816-1890) in Crawfordsville, Montgomery, IN. A medical doctor, he was the son of Williamson Dunn (1781-1865) and Miriam Wilson (1791-1827). They were married for 47 years.

William died on Aug. 26, 1890 in Frankfort Clinton Co., IN at the age of 73. He is buried in Bunnell Cemetery in that city.

Marie died on Aug. 27, 1899 in Frankfort, Clinton Co., IN at the age of 81. She too, is buried in the Bunnell Cemetery, next to her husband, William.
