Maria Hall

Maria Colvin was born in eastern Virginia in 1819. She married Joseph Hall (from West Virginia) in Guernsey, Ohio on February 5, 1841, at the age of 22. By November of that same year, their first child, Eliza, was born in Pennsylvania. The family resided in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania for many years and raised 8 children in that area, including Calvin George Hall, my 2nd great-grandfather. In September of 1870, at the age of 51, Maria gave birth to her last child, Sanford Hall. Five years later, her husband Joseph passed away. She and her unmarried children were living in California, Washington County, Pennsylvania in 1880. Maria died on January 16, 1886, while living with or visiting her daughter, Eliza, in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. She is buried, along with her husband, at Fells Church Cemetery, in Fellsburg, Westmorland County, Pennsylvania.
