Obituary for Marian (Wheeler) Tripp:

Marian Tripp, 87, Raytown, Missouri, formerly of Independence, Missouri, passed away June 3, 2012. Services will be 2 pm, Wed., June 6 at Carson-Speaks Chapel, 1501 W. Lexington Ave., Independence, Missouri 64052; interment at Mt. Washington Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to K.C. Hospice, 9221 Ward Pkwy., Ste. 100, Kansas City, Missouri 64114.
Marian was born Oct. 29, 1924 in rural Dallas County, Missouri. She graduated from Tunas High School and then attended Southwest Missouri State Teachers College, now known as Missouri State University. She was a longtime member of Rockwood Baptist Church and earlier in her life was active teaching Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She served as Sunshine Chairman who spread the Gospel to shut-ins and volunteered at the Don Bosco Center. She enjoyed quilting and crafts.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband Dennie H. Tripp and son Edward Tripp. She is survived by daughters Denise Tripp, Raytown, Missouri; Diane Haman; son Richard Tripp and wife Angela; grandchildren Erik McQuiston and wife Tonya; Richard Tripp, Jr.; Bobby Tripp; Kelly Tripp; Jennifer Tripp, all of Independence, Missouri; great-grandchildren Alliyah & Blake Tripp; sisters Virginia Edgcomb, Buffalo, Missouri; Frankie Ridenhour and husband Pat, Neosho. Missouri; Leona Newberry, Atlanta, GA; Lorena Jarman, North Kansas City, Missouri and many nieces and nephews.
