Wife of Former Ambassador
Mrs. George Bakhmeteff, American born wife of the former Russian ambassador to the United States, died yesterday at her home in Paris. Before marriage, she was Miss Mary Beale of Washington. She was very popular in the society of the diplomats at Washington before the World War. In Russia, she took a great interest in educational work and when the war came on, she was conversant with the work taken up by women of the leading Russian families in nursing and along charitable lines.
