About Marie Haines

Robert Pease' second wife, Marie, whose possible maiden id was Rodans, and the other children arrived in New England on a later ship. Marie, which is French for Mary, may have been born in Great Baddow, and her parents were probably Protestant refugees from France. Robert Pease and Marie were admitted to the Salem Church Oct 01, 1643, and two weeks later, three of their children were baptized there.

Marie, widow of Robert Pease was administratix, and the inventory of his estate was filed Aug 27, 1644.

  • 1.3 Nathaniel b. 1634 d.
  • 1.4 Sarah b. 1642 d.. Married John Sampson.
  • 1.5 Mary b. Aug 15,1643 d. ca. 1683 Salem, MA

There may have been another son of Robert and Lydia or Marie, Isaac Pease, born and baptized in England, who did not have a family.

After Robert Pease died, Marie m. (2) Richard Haines of Beverly, MA. Also said to have been of Huguenot background.
