Mary Eva's sister Anna C. was born on July 26, 1865, in Jefferson County, Ohio, when Mary Eva was 1 year old. Mary Eva's brother Francis was born in October 1869, in Pennsylvania when Mary Eva was 5 years old. Mary Eva's sister Emma was born on February 27, 1872, in Pennsylvania when Mary Eva was 7 years old. Mary Eva's brother John was born in February 1874, when Mary Eva was 9 years old, but sadly, he died just 7 months later on September 25, 1874 when Mary Eva was 10 years old.

Mary Eva's father, John, passed away on April 7, 1899, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ,at the age of 74. He had been a boot and shoemaker since the 1840's when he came to America from Ireland at the age of 25.

Also living in their home was Mary's widowed mother, Isabel McGinnis, 67, her sister Margreth, and her children, Anna, 31, and Frank, 30. Francis was working as an iron mill laborer, Mary was doing house work, the children were at school, Isabel, Margreth and Anna were also doing house work, and Frank McGinnis was working as an iron molter.

Frank and Mary Eva had another daughter, Katherine D., born January 20, 1902, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and another daughter, Sarah, born in 1904. Their last child, Harry C., was born on October 18, 1905, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Mary Eva's mother, Isabella Carlin, born July 12, 1832 or 1834 passed away on May 3, 1907, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at the age of 74 years old. At the time of her death she was living at 1809 Cliff Street in Pittsburgh. Her death certificate indicated that she died of senility, but the immediate cause of death was undetermined. The death certificate indicated she was 73 years, 9 months and 12 days old when she died. She was buried in the St. Mary's Cemetery on May 6, 1907. The informant on her death certificate was her daughter, Margaret McGinnis. Isabella was the daughter of Patrick Carlin and Mary McCaffrey both of Ireland.

Residence - April 18, 1910 - 1809 Cliff Street, Pittsburgh Ward 3, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. In the census record the family was listed as: Francis B., 50, Mary E., 45, Isabell, 22, Frank B., 20, William E., 19, John F.R., 16, Margaret, 14, Charles J., 11, Catherine D., 9, Sarah F., 7, and Harry C. McMahon, 4. Francis and Mary had been married or 24 years, and had given birth to 9 children, all of whom were still living at the time. Francis was still working as a mill laborer, Isabell as a clerk in a dry goods office, Frank as a driver for a milk depot, William as a fireman for the railroad, and John as a helper at a dairy.

In the 1920 U.S. Federal Census for Pittsburgh enumerated on January 6th, the family was listed as follows: Francis B., 60, Mary, 55, Isabelle, 31, Frank B., 29, William E., 27, and John R., 25, Francis was working as a laborer for the gas company, Isabelle as a sales lady in a shoe store, Frank as a chauffeur for a dry goods company, William as a laborer for the electric company, John as a laborer for the railroad, Charles as a carpenter helper for the railroad, and Katherine as a stenographer. There was a "lodger" living in their home by the name of William Bradburn, 30, who was also working as a laborer for the electric company.

Mary Eva's husband Francis Bernard McMahon passed away just six years later in 1926 at the age of 68. They had been married for 40 years. Her son John Regis also passed away in 1926 at the young age of only 33 years old. Mary Eva died at the age of about 65 years old on February 12, 1930. At the time of her death she was living at 1208 Stanhope Street in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. According to her Pennsylvania Certificate of Death, she died of acute myocarditis and cholecystitis, and was buried in the same cemetery as her husband, Francis, which was St. Martin's Cemetery. The informant on her death certificate was her daughter, Isabelle McMahon, who was also living on Stanhope Street in Pittsburgh.
