26 April 1598: Discharge by James, Master of Paisley, to Thomas, Lord Boyd, for 4,000 marks to complete the payment of 15,000 marks, which the said Lord, as principal, with his cautioners, was bound to pay to the granter, with Mrs Marion Boyd, his lawful daughter. She married James Hamilton, 1st Earl of Abercorn, son of Claud Hamilton, 1st Lord Paisley and Margaret Seton.[1]
She died on 26 August 1632 at Canongate, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.[1]
She was buried on 13 September 1632 at Abbey Church, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland.[2]
As a result of her marriage, Marion Boyd was styled as Lady Abercorn on 5 April 1603.[2] As a result of her marriage, Marion Boyd was styled as Countess of Abercorn on 10 July 1606.[2]
On 20 January 1628 she was excommunicated, in the Kirk of Paisley.[2]
