PRESIDENT'S AUNT DEAD AT ATLANTIC Mrs. Marion Roosevelt Was Stricken at the Shore and Never Regained Consciousness ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey, April 10. Mrs. Marion Roosevelt, wife of Robert Roosevelt, of New York, and an aunt of President Roosevelt, died suddenly today of cerebral paralysis.
Mrs. Roosevelt was stricken last evening and never regained consciousness. Mrs. Roosevelt was Mrs. Marion T. Fostescue when Mr. Roosevelt, who is an uncle of the President, married her in London in 1888, while he was United States Minister to Holland.
Before her first marriage she was Miss Marion O'Shea, the second daughter of Thomas O'Shea, editor of the Dublin Freeman's Journal. When only 16 years old she eloped with Captain Kenyon Fostescue, with whom she lived happily until his death, when she was left with two daughters. She had in the meantime made a name for herself as a writer of books and) as a contributor to the newspapers.
