Marion McKay "Moon" West

Marion McKay 'Moon' West of Forestdale returned to his heavenly Father March 8, 2008, in Mesa. He was born Nov. 15, 1956, in Snowflake to Lavern and Clara West. He was married to Patricia Pedro West, and they had one son together, Mario. Marion is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, currently the Cibecue Branch.

He is survived by his son, Mario (Tapaita); three grandchildren, Malakai, Monai and Sulynn of Queen Creek; two sisters, Claralynn (Francisco) Merino of Mesa, Lisa (Kevin) Yates of North Carolina; and three brothers, Ernie of Forestdale, Edmund (Holly) of Mesa and Tony (Vicki) Garcia of Mesa. Also the Codys of Whiteriver, and many uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lavern and Clara West and his older brother Samuel.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 14, at 11 a.m. at the Show Low LDS Stake Center, with a visitation from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Forestdale.

Silver Creek Mortuary of Taylor handled the arrangements.
