Maritgen Joosten of De Snouck, on the corner of Jacob Gerritsz Straet, died 1644, Delft, buried 25 August 1644, Nieuwe Kerk, Delft
The will of their son, Jacob Alewijnsz Tol declares that he was the son of the late Alewijn Jacobs and names his mother as Maritgen Joosten.

according to the Nieuw Kerk Ondertrouwboek. His address when he married was Oudenlangedijk but

The house was built in 1593 by Jacob Alewijnsz Speldemaker (surname or occupation?) when he obtained permission to build a warehouse for his house on the north west corner of the Jaep Gerritsstaet.On the 10th January 1608 Jacob Alewynsz inde Snoock, oude langendijck was buried from the Oude Kerk.

When Alewijn Jacobs, his son, was married to Maritgen Joosten in 1606, he was living in the 'Grooten Snouck' , and when he was buried in 1621, his address was 'de Snouck' in the Jacob Gerritsen Street (inde Snoock opde houck van Jacob gerritsz [straat]). His widow continued to live in that house through her two subsequent marriages, finally being buried from there herself in 1644.

Their son, Jacob Alewijnsz. Tol, also lived at De Snouck, Jacob Gerritsen Straet, Delft (in 1647 given as Odenlangendijck).

Born around 1607, Jacob married Lijsbet Dircx van der Piet on 3 March 1647 at Nieuwe Kerk, Delft.

This map of Delft by J.Blaeu from 1649 shows the Nieuwe Kerk in its centre, at the front of which is the main Market Square. Oude Langendijk Road runs parallel to the square on the right of this, a block over.
