Tauber, beloved husband of Mildred nee Mittleman; dear father of Joseph (Bernice) and Edward (Mildred C.); devoted grandfather of four; great-grandfather of three; fond brother of Belle Pollak, the late May Kern, Charlotte Tauber, and Frances Hoffman [*note: no sister named “Frances Hoffman” can be identified; this was almost certainly his oldest niece, Frances Hoffman Lavine, dau of his eldest sister Sophia Tauber Hoffman, or it might be an erroneous reference to Sophia herself]. Services Monday, 2 p.m., at Piser Memorial Chapel, 5206 Broadway. Mr. Tauber was president of the JEM Furniture Corp, 3951 S. Canal St., which he founded in 1954. He formerly was president of the Ashley Furniture Corp….”
