Martha CAPON: Martha was the wife of William Capon when she was tried at the Norfolk Assizes 31st July 1809, when she was sentenced to seven years transportation. Extract of the Norfolk Assizes, 31st July 1809: Martha Capon, aged 39 "Committed 20 July 1809, by Robert Plumptre and T.B. Evans, Esquires charged on the oath of Joseph Redgrave, of Catton, farmer, and on her own confession, with breaking into and entering his dwelling-house in the night between the 12th and 13th of the same month, and feloniously stealing 3 pairs of boots, and sundry other articles of wearing apparel." Who arrived on "Canada" which left England 3rd March 1810 sailed via Rio, and arrived Port Jackson 8th September the same year Martha Capon lived in the Windsor area and in 1814 was shown with Israel Rayner, and with one child.
