About Martha [Barker] Goodell
Identity
It is most likely that Martha is Martha Ingalls was born at Andover on 9 February 1712/13 and she was the daughter of John and Sarah (Russell) Ingalls. Martha Ingalls and William Barker were married on 10 Mar 1729/30 and were parents of seven children. At the time of the marriage of Mrs. Martha Barker to Jacob Goodell on 20 December 1743 she was Mrs. Martha Barker of Rumford after William Barker died at Rumford on 6 January 1741.
Three of Martha Ingall's siblings (Mehitable, Benjamin, and Stephen) were already settled in Pomfret and it would be reasonable that the widowed Martha Barker of Rumford went to Pomfret where she married Jacob Goodell.
Supporting this idea is the information that five of the seven children of William and Martha (Ingalls) Barker married in Pomfret supporting that she went to Pomfret and remarried there.
