Martha "Martie" Greef (1926 – 1998)

Martie (72), and her husband Flip (76), were shot and killed in their home on the farm Middelwater, where the killers fled with their bakkie (pickup).

Friday at midnight, police found Greeff's body in the living room and his wife's in their bedroom.

  • They two suspects had two bags with personal belongings of the couple in their possession as well as a .22 revolver which was the property of Mrs. Greeff. The police suspect that this is also the weapon with which the Greeffs were shot dead.

  • Two men, 39 and 25 years old, respectively, were apprehended at an early roadblock near Beaufort West early yesterday morning. Mr. Eddie Claasen, liaison officer of the Department of Correctional Services in the Western Cape, confirmed that the two suspects were released from Worcester jail on Monday, as part of Presidents Mandela's amnesty
