Merritt – Newspaper Date 17 May 1951 Mrs. Martha Almedia Merritt, 70, widow of Julius F. Merritt Formerly of Albion, died Wednesday at her home, 231 North Liberty Street, in Marshall, following a long illness. Mrs. Merritt was born July 14, 1874, in Leonidas, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abner Butler, She was married to Mr. Merritt in November 1892 in Marengo and for some time they lived in Albion operating a music store in a building si???ated in the 100 block of West Center street. Mr. Merritt died Nov 24, 1938. Mrs. Merritt is survived by a daughter. Mrs. C. F. (Agnes) Wickens, Albion; three sons Floyd E. Merritt, Grand Ledge, and Rolland F. Merritt and Glenn B. Merritt both of Marshall; a half-brother, John Martin, Marshall; and 13 Grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at two pm in the Court Funeral home in Marshall, Rev. Howard Lynah will be officiating, Burial Marengo Cemetery.
