* Martha Walker (c1747-?) is believed to have married Alexander Montgomery (?--?) about 1761, based on the DOB of their eldest child, Alexander Montgomery III.

• * Martha would have been only 15 years of age at the time of son Alexander's birth, based on her commonly given DOB of c1747;
  • this may indicate that her actual DOB is somewhat earlier than 1747, with a DOB of 1742 or so being plausible.
• In any case, accepting the 1761 DOM, we can assume that this marriage occurred in Orange Co,NC, (later Caswell Co.) as her parents were living there after 1756, when they moved there from Borden's Grant (modern Rockbridge Co VA).
