Mary Walker, daughter of John and Ann Houston Walker, is said to have
married Andrew Cowan, supposedly the third Cowan brother to marry a Walker sister.
- The entry books for Fincastle or Washington Counties show no land entry for Andrew Cowan, but we do know from an old land suit that he was improving land on Blackwater (presently Lee County) and at Big Lick (now Duffield in Scott County).
- He figures in the records of Washington County from about 1777 through 1783.
