Marvin Dennis

I Marvin Dennis of the town of Easton Washington County and state of New York. Mindful of the uncertainties of human life do make, publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following:

First: After the payment of my just debts and funeral expenses. I give devise and bequest to my daughter Elizabeth Campbell wife of Archibald Campbell the sum of fifty Dollars.

Second. I give devise and bequeath to my grandson William Dennis son of Deransel D. Dennis the sum of two hundred dollars.

Third: I give devise and bequeath to my two granddaughters Marilla Hay wife of Andrew Hay and Esther Dennis both daughters of William Dennis Deceased, each three hundred dollars.

Fourth. I give devise and bequeath to my grandson Peter Dennis, son of William Dennis deceased: three hundred dollars.

Fifth: I give devise and bequeath to my granddaughter Florence Dennis, daughter of Adelaide Dennis deceased the sum of nine hundred dollars and also all of my household furniture of every kind.

Sixth. All the rest residue and remainder of my property and estate of every name and nature I give, devise and bequeath to my son Derensel D. Dennis.

Seventh. I hereby nominate and appoint my son Deransel D. Dennis the executor of this my last Will and Testament and hereby authorize and empower him the said Deransel D. Dennis to compound, confirm and settle any claim or demand, which may be against or in favor of my said estate. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of April 1878.

Washington County; ss.

                                                 Samuel Skiff and Phebe A. Skiff being duly sworn in open court, severally depose and say that they were acquainted with the above named Marvin Dennis in his lifetime: and that they and each of them were present and saw him subscribe his name at the end of the instrument in writing now produced & exhibited to them, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of the said deceased bearing date the fourth day of April A.D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight.  That the said deceased at the time of subscribing his name as aforesaid, published and declared the said instrument to be his last Will and Testament, in the presence of these deponents and of each of them; and these deponents at the request of the said deceased and in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed their names respectively thereto as witnesses to the execution thereof the said deceased was a citizen of the United States above the age of twenty one years, of sound disposing mind and memory and not under restraint to the best of the knowledge, information and belief of these deponents.
