About Marvin L. Fine
Marvin was the only son of my Aunt Yetta Cohen Fine & Uncle Morris Fine. Aunt Yetta also raised the two sons (Leonard & Milton) of Uncle Morris's first marriage to Rose, who died quite young. (All were Shifrins.) My memories of Marvin are sparse. He dressed very 1950's as a teenager - white T-shirts, crisp blue jeans with rolled cuffs, and slicked back hair. He drove a fast car! He had the wood paneled attic in their home as his bedroom suite. Marvin attended Buchtel High School in Akron, Ohio. He was often away from the house with friends when Mom brought us to visit on Sunday afternoons. He did have the very best in comic books that he shared with these young cousins! I always felt he liked us. When I was still in grade school, he married Jodi. In time, they bought a home in East Akron, adopted a daughter, and he had a machine shop. He & his wife raised their daughter in an odd, offshoot church to whom he gave all the monies derived from the sale of his father's life's work, the grocery market, & home. It was reported in the Akron Beacon Journal that Marvin passed away after a long, debilitating, painful illness. Of his wife & daughter, I have no further contact knowledge.
