Text: Reseachers differ on the wives of Richard Albritton, Sr.: Mary Lanier, Mary Hart, Margot Kent, Avarilla Atherton, and Mrs. Ann Flint Sibley. This compiler has found no records of a marriage to Mary Lanier. It is to the belief that his three wives were Mary Hart (whom he married in Pitt County, North Carolina, daughter of Benjamin Hart and Nancy Morgan Hart); Margot Kent (as recorded Feb. 19, 1802) in Bulloch County, Georgia; and Ann Flint Sibley (as proven by Louisiana records).

Text: Wrote paper verifying Richard Albritton's marriage to Mary Hart, and listed their children.

Text: In comparing the research records, I found that Bobby Albritton has this Richard Albritton's nephew, who was also named Richard Albritton, married to Margaret Kent. This may explain some of the earlier confusion as to wives of Richard Albritton, Sr.

The Richard Albritton that married Margot Kent was the son of James Albritton and Delanie Kent (grandson of Richard Albritton, Sr.). The name Richard was very popular with the Albritton's. Neither Richard Albritton, Sr, or his son, Richard Albritton, Jr., married Margot Kent.
