The third of eight children born to Captain Ebenezer Pitts (circa 1669 - 1734) and Elizabeth (Hoskins / Haskins) Pitts / 1679 - 1739. Mary Pitts was born on December 16, 1712 in Dighton, Massachusetts.

The marriage of Mary Pitts and Samuel Andrews is referenced twice in "Massachusetts Marriages, 1695 - 1910". The date of May 23, 1726 would likely represent the date the "intentions" were posted, while the date of June 2, 1726 would likely represent the actual date of the marriage. Mary Pitts was clearly in "a family way" at the time of the nuptials.
