When Mary Read was born in 1620, in Essex, England, United Kingdom, her father, Thomas Reade, was 22 and her mother, Rachel Olmstead, was 18. She married Daniel Bacon in 1639, in Colchester, Essex, England. They were the parents of at least 8 sons and 3 daughters. She died on 4 October 1691, in Newton, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America, at the age of 71, and was buried in Newton, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.
