The time frame here suggests that Laurence Bruce is most likely to be her grandfather, in which case Mary's father would be Laurence"s son Andrew Bruce of Muness who inherited the castle. Hence the name Mary Bruce of Muness.

Time frame also supports this because building of the Muness Castle begun, or was finished, so late in 1598.

Mary probably followed Andrew to Sweden. If she did not, Andrew went to Sweden in 1635, probably at relatively young age.

There were two daughters to Andrew Bruce in Geni whose names were "Marjorie".

The first Marjorie was born earlier than the other, and had a family. Therefore the other "Marjorie" is probably a misnomer because the other Marjorie did not die as child, and that makes the other Marjorie likely to be the Mary in this profile.

The other Marjorie, does not have husband, and the date of his death is not known. The other Marjorie, therefore, has to be the Mary here.

JOHN SINCLAIR, married to Mary Bruis of Onovitz [Muness], by whom he had a son ANDREW SINCLAIR, who went to Sweden in 1635, and attained the rank of Colonel.

[Andrew Sinclair] He was Governor in Thorn, where he rejected the storm of the enemy eight times successively. He was made Swedish nobleman (Number 965) in 1680, and died in 1689, leaving by his wife, Anna Amendsson, a son, his successor - CHARLES ANDREW SINCLAIR, Colonel in a Regiment of Foot; Major-General, who died in 1753.
