Mary Bowen (daughter of Richard Bowen and Pateince) was born December 28, 1696, and died date unknown. She married Thomas Cole of Boston in 1723, his 2nd wife. He was a son of John Cole, schoolmaster of Boston, and Mary Gallup, and the widower of Hannah Franklin, a sister of Benjamin Franklin "the signer."

Mary Bowen was born 28 Dec. 1696 in Rehoboth, Bristol, MA. Her parents were Richard Bowen and Patience Peck. According to Arnold's Rehoboth VR, Mary married Thomas Cole (of Boston) on 11 March 1723 (intentions 15 Feb.1723).According to the Voluntown CT VR I found on the web, a Mary Bowen married Thomas Cole on 11 Mar.1724. I have also seen mention of 1711 Mar.1722. The 1723 date appears to be the best choice. Mary's brother Dan Bowen moved to Voluntown about 1739, so the Rehoboth/Voluntownconnection for Mary appears more reasonable.
