About Mary Crosley
Richard and Mary Crook were married at Banbury MM, in Berks, England
I was the eldest daughter of John Shinn and his wife Jane Garwood. We belonged to the Friends Meeting House in Burlington County, New Jersoey. I married John Crosley and we had seven children. After John's death, I conveyed to my father the land devised to me by my deceased husband on the condition that he should maintain my idiot child, Mary. My father performed this condition by making it a charge upon his estate at his death, too. My husband John certainly appreciated the advantages of culture since he made me his executrix and gave me power to sell his lands for the purpose of educating our children. After being a widow for a time, I married rRchard Fennimore, a prosperous widower of Willingboro Township. He was son of Richard Fennimore Sr who was one of the original proprietors and who signed the original "Concessions and Agreements". Both Richard and his father were prominent in early Jersey affairs and universally respected for their thrift and honest and public enterprise. I outlived both my husbands and did not remarry again. Both husbands provided well for me and I could live a happy life in the evening of my life and passed to a Christian's grave.
