Biography

Birth

"Mary Merriman The Daughter of Nathaniel Merriman was borne ye 12th July 1657" in New Haven, Connecticut.[1] Nathaniel's wife, Mary's mother, was known only as Joan.[2]

Baptism

"Marey" and her siblings, Abigall and John, children of Brother Mereman, were baptized on the same day 27 June 1661, at the First Congregational Society of New Haven.[3][4]

Wallingford

In 1669, Wallingford, became a village offshoot of the New Haven Colony. Among those who signed the Wallingford Covenant and became first planters was Nathaniel Merriman, Mary's father, and so the family moved out of New Haven and began a new life in previously unsettled Wallingford. Mary's future husband, Thomas Curtis, was also one of the original settlers.[5]

Marriage

Thomas Curtis and Mary Merriman were married 9 June 1674 at Wallingford, Connecticut.[6][2][7]

Death

Mary did not die 9 August 1733, but after that date. Her husbands will was made on that date, naming her executrix, and providing for her after his death.[8]
