Mary was born in 1714. She is the daughter of John Colby and Mary Frame.

There do not appear to be many candidates for this marriage other than this Mary. There are very few candidates for Nathaniel Eastman, as well.

A Nathaniel, son of Roger and Hannah (Kimball) Eastman, was born in Amesbury 6 February 1719[/20]. This Nathaniel would only be seventeen years and eight months old in October 1737 when Nathaniel Eastman married Mary Colby. Mary, daughter of John and Mary (Frame) Colby, would have been twenty-three four months old; five years eight months Nathaniel's senior.

It appears that this was a rushed marriage, given the date of birth of their first child in Amesbury:

Easmon: 'Nathanail, s. Nathaniel and Mary, Apr. 9, 1738.'

The only information given in History and Genealogy of the Eastman Family of America for Nathaniel, son of Roger and Hannah (Kimball) Eastman, is his date of birth. He is named in the joint will of Roger and Hannah Eastman but not in Hannah's own.

Nathaniel and Mary were in Kingston, New Hampshire by 13 April 1754 when Nathaniel sold his homestead in Amesbury to Jedediah Flanders of Salisbury.
